Land Discussion 2nd Meeting with Katie Little-Sadler

A small group of people of colour are coming together to discuss the possibility of collectively raising funds to purchase land/property in Scotland. The land/property could be used for retreats, well-being activities, arts and creative pursuits, community activism, training/workshops, and camping. The aim will also be to utilise the land/property as part of a community-based resilience/disaster preparedness initiative. We are interested in drawing from examples where the process is also embedded in restorative justice.

This is the 2nd Online meeting for all those interested.

In this 2nd Online meeting, Katie Little-Sadler will join us from Development Trust Association Scotland (DTAS), dtascot.org.uk.

Development Trusts Association Scotland is a member-led organisation that promotes, supports and represents development trusts across Scotland.

Katie will be speaking to us about mechanisms for collectively raising funds to purchase land or property in Scotland. Focusing primarily on Community Benefit Societies (CBS), how they are set up, run, and the pros and cons.
